Stu Armstrong, Project Manager

Stu has an extensive background in real estate development, business development, marketing, sales, and management. He has decades of housing development and finance experience. Stu provided key entrepreneurial leadership and vision as Piedmont Housing Alliance’s Executive Director from 1996-2013, growing the organization from 2 to 22 employees, leveraging over $160M for single-family and multi-family development to meet the community need for more housing options, and earning local to national recognitions and awards.

Margaret Clair, Executive Director

Margaret Clair has lived in Nelson County since 2000 and has been involved with many aspects of the community, most recently as Executive Director of NCCDF. She has been on several community boards including the Nelson County School Board representing the Central District and the Rockfish Valley Community Center where she was central to the playground build and the Hamner Theater there. She has had business and non-profit experience in fundraising, member and volunteer management, training and sales.

George Krieger,

Manager of Special Projects

George served as Executive Director of NCCDF from 1986-88 and 2001-20, brought in $11M of funding, created 70 units of affordable housing, and was Project Manager for the $3M historic renovation of a 1931 school into the Nelson Center leased office space. He is working with NCCDF as Special Projects Manager on the Renaissance Ridge development.
